Jules Assue- Dancer- Company Member since 2023
Jules Assue is a performing artist based in Brooklyn, New York. Jules graduated summa cum laude from the Fordham/Ailey BFA program in 2022 with double majors in political science and dance. They are currently a company member with Katy Pyle’s Ballez, exploring radical retellings of story ballets through a queer lens; they have also performed with Pangea Dance Collective and Edgar Cortes Dance Theater, and solo as a drag artist. Jules’ first introduction to Syren was as Kate Sutter’s student at the Nutmeg Conservatory of the Arts summer intensive, which they attended for five years. They first performed with Syren as a guest artist in November 2023, and Jules is always delighted to be back in the studio to dance and learn with the company
